I think Valentine’s Day is a silly holiday.
Why?
If you forget to do “something special” for a loved one, you are definitely in trouble. But, if you DO plan something special, the “specialness” is tarnished because it’s Valentine’s Day…that something special was expected.
Keeping a loved one feeling cherished and appreciated is best achieved by Random Acts of Kindness. Which also happens to be a fantastic way to keep your piano studio clients happy! Happy clients mean fewer complaints, fewer late payments, and fewer hassles in general.
At our piano studio, one of our weekly jobs is to send random “Good News” emails to several of our music students. And despite it being a regular task for us, it is random, out of the blue, and immensely appreciated by our piano students receiving the email.
The same is true when I bring home flowers for Andrea. If it is Valentine’s Day the flowers are, of course, appreciated, but if it is a Tuesday in July, she is over the moon!
There is absolutely no substitute for going out of your way to foster a positive, happy relationship with your piano studio’s clients. And nothing does the trick better for fostering this relationship then a few random acts of kindness.
