So… What did you think? Impressed?
For the last little while in internet land, this cute little piano prodigy has been getting a lot of attention. So much so that some skeptics are beginning to question the authenticity of the video. And while everyone seems to be commenting on his “mad chops”, what really impressed me was…
His Joyful Personality
Too many piano prodigies end up looking like tortured geniuses. Not this kid! He approaches his piano playing with the most refreshing, youthful exuberance I have seen in a long time. Check out the video at 2 minutes 25 seconds. His dramatic finish is absolutely priceless!
That There Is A Piano Teaching Goal
No matter how hard we work as piano teachers, most of our students will never have the capabilities of the boy in the video. But what our students are capable of, however, is embracing the piano with the same enthusiasm and passion as this little guy… and it is our job as piano teachers to facilitate this in any way we can!
If you think he has a great smile, wait until you see the look on your boys’ faces when you break out The Adventures of Fearless Fortissimo. Click here and you’ll discover why a teacher recently wrote to say, “When I see their glossy eyes with that far away look of boredom, I bring out the comic book that brings them back to piano.”

Would someone tell me the names of the pieces this prodigy is playing, please? He plays with such beautiful ease. What a magnificent teacher he has.

Would someone be so kind as to tell me the name of the pieces he is playing?

First piece: Thiman, Flood-Time number 5 from Water Pieces
Second piece: Bach: Air from Partita #6 BWV 830
Many people do not believe he is really playing this and that this is a clever ruse. There are several observations made(not by me:-) i.e. hand size and color change after the first shot of his hands, pedal shot in m.4 8 secs; 3 min 54 seconds -look at the refletion-his left hand is on the black key, near If he is for real, I’d love a student with such passion…at any age.
