A singing nun is all the rage on youtube these days. Her performance on The Voice of Italy shocked and delighted the judges, the audience, and the viewing public… I mean, really, it’s not everyday we get to watch a singing nun belt out Alicia Keys’ No One.
You can check out the video below… and then keep reading because i wanted to share more with you today than just a singing nun!
So, if you watched the video, I’m guessing you had a good giggle at the expressions on the judges’ faces when their chairs turned and they were able to see who was belting out the tune.
They were shocked… and, more importantly, delighted.
Sister Cristina Scuccia surprised everyone by shattering our pre-conceived notions of nuns. She dared to be different, and in doing so delighted millions of people around the world.
I want to be the Sister Cristina of piano lessons. I want to delightfully shock every child and family who enters my studio with my creativity, energy, and ingenuity.
I want to inspire every new student who leaves my piano studio to say with delightful surprise, “Wow… I wasn’t expecting piano lessons to be like that!”
And I hope you’re inspired to do the same!
If you’re looking for a composing program that definitely has that “delightfully shocking” factor then you’ll want to check out The Curious Case of Muttzart and Ratmaninoff.

You are!
Andrea says
Thank you Julia! So kind of you 🙂 It’s always helpful to find refreshing reminders of what it is you set out to do each and every day isn’t it!
Kathy Butterfield says
Sooooooo……ok….I am going to expose my ignorance…. But what software do you use to print compositions? There….it’s out! I will definitely use this book but….well shucks….I’ve never printed music before!
Jo says
You can download Musescore for free to use for composition. There’s lot of helps on the internet on how to use it.
Andrea says
I was going to recommend MuseScore as well because it’s free. I’ve found the best all-round program to be Sibelius, but it is expensive. I think Finale has a free version you can download as well.

I have not seen this clip! How cool! Great post!
Andrea says
We thought it was cool too Jennifer! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂

Thank you for sharing this, it brought tears to my eyes. I shared it with my 16 year old son who had heard about it but didn’t bother to watch it and he was amazed and actually thanked me for sharing it with him. It was also great seeing the other nuns and her parents (I think they were her parents) there to support her. Thank you!
Andrea says
Hi Heidi – I’m a sucker for stuff like this too and it made me teary as well. I think it was her supporters’ reaction that “got” me – and also the unabashed surprise and delight from the judges. You just gotta love this singing nun 🙂
