If you ask my wife, she’ll tell you that I try to reinvent our piano programs on a weekly basis. I drive her crazy. I can be very frustrating because I’m kind of the “idea-guy-who-doesn’t-always-follow-through” which makes her the “exhausted-lady-who-follows-through-with-all-the-zany-ideas”!
But somehow we make it work… or should I say “she makes it work”, and in turn we have a very exciting piano program that is always fresh.
Now when I say “reinvent our piano program” I don’t mean restructure our core lesson focus. This would cause complete mayhem. By reinvent, I mean continually come up with new add-on, or supplementary, activities. Some of these activities take off, like our student recognition program (iROCK), our My First Gig evenings, and our student composition lending library, while other activities fizzle.
The important thing is that our studio is always evolving and the kids are always excited to come to their piano lessons to see “what’s new”! If you offer a unique add-on program or activity share it with us below.
I am new to your blog and those activities you listed sound like they have a lot of potential. I don’t see a search button. Are details available?
