Here’s a simple, yet effective way to boost the professionalism of your piano teaching studio… and while it may seem trivial, it’s something you should take note of. Often the smallest adjustment makes the biggest difference.
Your advertising material says a lot about you – in previous posts we’ve talked about how to best create piano studio ads that stand out from the rest. However, if this one little thing is lurking on your beautifully-designed ad, you may be undoing all of your hard work in one swift blow.
One little thing!? What could it be?

That’s right… we’re talking about your email address. Your email address is more telling than you may think. It can project a first impression that can either do a world of good… or a lot of damage. Don’t believe us? Check out the list below (of fictitious emails) … and, based purely on the email alone, decide where you would send your child to piano lessons?

Making your choice was pretty easy, right?
In our position as piano teaching bloggers we see all kinds of emails every single day. And while we truly do appreciate the imagination and the personal expression in some people’s email addresses – it might not always serve you well in your business.
Good News… It’s a Quick Fix!
There are a multitude of free email services. Probably the most well-known is gmail. It’s best to go with a service that offers an easy-to-remember address after the @ sign. You want people to easily recall your contact information. Obscure email address are not easy to remember (unless they’re so obscure they’re memorable for a whole other reason!) Pick an email address that is professional, easy to spell and immediately apparent that you are a piano teacher. Stick your new address on your advertising materials and let your email address work as a marketing tool rather than a PR nightmare.
Searching for ways to make your Piano Teaching Studio rise above? Check out our Piano Teaching Guide “Piano Hands Shouldn’t Flip Burgers” where we cover advertising, marketing, studio set-up, and of course, pedagogy. Recently it inspired a piano teacher to email “I feel as though someone just handed me a secret treasure map!”
