If I hadn’t met Andrea way back in high school I’d be divorced by now. Truth be told, if Andrea hadn’t met me back in high school, she would be divorced too. There simply isn’t anyone else in the world who would put up with our quirks. Fortunately for us, we did find each other, and our oddities are perfectly aligned. So while many of our quirks are met with eye rolls and guffaws from those who know us best, we merrily go along our quirky little way oblivious to the error in our ways.
You want to know what they are, don’t you?!
Well, take Daylight Savings Time for instance. In the fall everyone changes their clocks back one hour. Everyone that is, except for Andrea and I. We have still not changed our clock back (months later), instead opting to do mental math each time we glance at the clock to determine the actual time. Or how about our garage door, which has not been re-programmed since the battery on the keypad died 2 months ago, leaving me locked out of the house on more than one… or two… or three occasions. Better yet, yesterday our daughter Lexi went to school wearing her two year old sister’s dress thinking it was a shirt. Apparently the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, or in this case, the trees.
You see, the thing is, Andrea and I (and apparently Lexi) are so focused on the exciting things in our lives, like writing this blog, answering your emails, creating new piano education products, taking our two girls on adventures and exploring new hobbies, that life’s boring little details (that are important nonetheless) sometimes get brushed aside.
One such little detail that I’ve been putting off for a while has been adding search functionality to our blog. Over the last two months we’ve been so engaged in projects like Return To Music Day and Teach Piano Today’s 12 Days of Christmas that this important little detail has been put off… until now!
Unlike garage door openers and time changes however, the new search form on TeachPianoToday.com is anything but boring. Now the answers to all of your piano teaching questions are just a few key strokes away. The search form is located in the sidebar of our blog page or on individual blog posts like this one.
I hope you have fun searching our site for all of the answers to your piano teaching questions! Now I’ve gotta run; there are garage doors to be fixed and clocks to be changed (what can I say… I’m turning over a new leaf).

Trevor, I am very glad that you and Andrea met in high school. You two have aligned with many of us (quirks and all!) and I’m sure I speak for many, that we are grateful! Merry Christmas!

A very happy Christmas to you both and your daughters, with many thanks for all the great and inspiring ideas, and especially the great Christmas give-a-way. I have passed your details on to my daughter, who has followed in her Mum’s footsteps and is also teaching piano & keyboard. She has a first class honours degree in Music Composition, so she will be very interested in your Composing ideas. We live in the UK, so your blogs are appreciated far and wide.
Many thanks again and keep up the good work.

This is amazing!!! When I was looking for something specific I would always end up reading everything that sounded interesting and as you might imagine that was actually everything so never get to the thing I actually wanted to find 😀 ! So this helps save the time! Thank you so much! And have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!! You always pump me up with enthusiasm so much! Thanks to you I am becoming every day a better piano teacher!

Ha, ha! That’s what I would do, too – read through everything, and I’d get really distracted and run out of time and not actually get to what I was looking for! But, I’d end up with a whole load of new things to do, though. 🙂

Just used the search for board games. Great results. Sometimes I can’t remember the name of a game I really liked. I really appreciate this extra gift you’re giving out!! Will use one today!
Merry Christmas. Know that you make a huge difference in many lives!
