A piano teacher recently emailed to tell us about “a very real problem in [her] piano studio”. In her exact words she said…
“Your music is just so exciting and inspiring that all my students’ myriad of tutor books pale in comparison. I’ve lost count of the number of lessons students have come to having “accidentally forgotten” all their music except their Piano Book Club pieces.”
To this, all I can say is… I think this teen piano book is going to make this problem much, much worse…
The Amadeus Anthems – A Classical Pop Crossover is the beginning of a revolution in teenage piano repertoire. It bridges the gap between today’s pop music and yesterday’s classical masterpieces.
Each of the 7 early-intermediate pieces in The Amadeus Anthems is a pop-inspired tribute to the music of Mozart. Whether you use the repertoire to ignite a passion for piano or as a jumping-off point for exploring the classics, The Amadeus Anthems is the start of a movement that will inspire the next generation of piano students.
A Visual Preview Of The Amadeus Anthems
If you click on the image below you’ll be able to preview three of the seven pieces from Teach Piano Today’s PianoBookClub Book of the Month for September… and then if you scroll a little further down we have a couple more recordings you can listen to as well!
If you like what you see and hear, you can find The Amadeus Anthems on Amazon here.

“I wanted to let you know that I love this month’s book! I’ve played through it several times and can’t wait to give it out to some of my middle school students. Thanks for helping to keep lessons creative and to keep our students excited about playing!”
“Wow Andrea and Trevor! This is sooooooooooo cool ~ what a fabulous idea and composition for the teens! I think my teens who may be hesitating about piano are totally going to have a wonderful beginning to their year to keep them motivated!”

Cassie says
WOW! These are absolutely beautiful pieces! The only bad thing now is that I’m not going to be able to wait out the rest of the month ’til I get my book for the month! I have just as much fun (or more…) playing all your pieces than my students do! Thanks for such fun supplemental repertoire!
Andrea says
Hi Cassie – I can help! I’m happy to change your delivery date to earlier for you. Just email me! Thrilled that you are also finding “happy piano moments” with our music 🙂
Li-San says
These pieces sound great!
Donna says
Andrea’s amazing book club pieces have “saved” so many of my students from boredom and feelings of quitting piano I cannot thank her enough! This week’s student comment was” This music speaks to me! I love this music!”
Andrea says
This is so fabulous Donna – thanks for sharing (and please know how much we appreciate you taking the time to write to us!)
LadyD says
My Junior High and High School students love the music! They practice the songs daily, along with their scales and they can hear fingers playing faster. Beautiful melodies have touched hearts. Their confidence is soaring and they’re having fun! Thank you!
Andrea says
Hi Diana – your comment made me so happy, thank you!
Carol says
What Cassie said earlier! I was thinking of a demo in a recital of some of the original and then the crossover. (Maybe even dress up like Mozart in the Halloween recital!) What a great idea for the teens! You two are geniuses. How do you come up with these wonderful ideas??
Thank you again!
Andrea says
Thank you Carol! Wow.. If I could wake up every morning to someone calling me a genius I’d take it 😉 LOL. I like your idea of a recital pairing – that would be really neat! Happy teaching!
Kristi says
oh yeah. This one’s a big hit in my studio already. I always think of 8th-10th grade as the danger zone for lots of students. Their world is opening up, and they are ready to explore – plus other activities are taking more time. I’ve shown these to a couple of students. I love it when they gasp and say “I want to play that,” and literally take the score from me. The student the Pop-Waltz Prophecy book re-energized over a year ago, is now on fire again eager to play all of these.
Andrea says
Hi Kristi – those “gasp and grab” moments are what we strive for! We had PopWaltz Prophecy kids in mind when we wrote this book. Glad to hear The Amadeus book is a hit in your studio already!
Beth says
I thoroughly enjoy your blog and love being part of the piano book club. I received this book on Monday and ended up using all week….great pieces to kick off the school year and motivate students. I have been teaching for over 25 years but am always excited to have new pieces to ignite enthusiasm! Last year, I enjoyed using the Vamp Battle Duets as a part of my recital! Thank you for all you contribute to my piano studio!
Andrea says
So great to hear Beth – we released this one in September with the hopes it would be a great boost for your early-intermediate students… glad to hear it’s working! 🙂
Charlotte Hughes says
This is wonderful! I think I’ll enjoy playing these as much as the students. And how fitting – our studio’s “Composer of the Month” for September is Mozart!
Andrea says
Don’t you love it when serendipitous things like that happen Charlotte 🙂 So glad you like the music.
Angela says
Is there anyway you can purchase individual pieces/
Andrea says
Hi Angela – our music is all available through PianoBookClub. One piece of studio-licensed digital music is typically around $5… but instead you get an entire book for $8 🙂
Linda says
I am in love with these pieces! All 7 of them sound great, feel great to play, and are written so that more than one or two levels of ability can play them because they sound so fabulous! You ARE a genius. Everything you have written for the PianoBookClub has been a joy to have for my studio. And right now I have SO many teens that these are being used a lot! Besides the “Amadeus Anthems”, I’m using the “Cob Webster” and the “I Thought I Heard Lions” music at this time. I anxiously look forward to the new material each month! THANKS SO MUCH!
Andrea says
Thanks so much for your kind words Linda – please know how much they mean to us 🙂 We’re beyond thrilled that so many of our books are getting a work out in your studio!
Kim says
Thank you so much for posting the audio music to these books. This has helped my daughter so much! Love it! Hope you continue to post the audio with the books.
Andrea says
Hi Kim – we always will include audio tracks for our early intermediate and intermediate pieces 🙂 Glad your daughter is enjoying the book!
Abigail says
Hi! Could you possibly you change my piano book club date to earlier? 🙂 I have two specific students in mind who I’d like to get this music to right away!
Andrea says
Hi Abigail – absolutely! I’ve changed it to the 17th (earliest I can for this month) 🙂
Loni Spendlove says
WHY did you share this? Now I have to get it! One suggestion: I’d love to see the ability to subscribe to the Piano Book Club or Piano Game Club and have the option to skip a month, switch between one and the other, etc. With a small studio (by choice), I love what you produce, but can’t get both every month and canceling a subscription and re-signing again is a pain.
Rachel says
Is there a way to buy this book without joining the Piano Book Club? Just wondering 🙂
Andrea says
Hi Rachel – all of our music is released through PianoBookClub.com 🙂
Faith says
Agghh!!! I can’t wait for mine to come!
Andrea says
I can adjust your delivery date if you Cant wait Faith – just email me
Beth says
Beautiful! Great job! I’ll be really excited if it includes a spinoff of his Eine Kleine Nachtmusik!
Andrea says
It does Beth!
Jahn Crews says
Eager to get home and play through all of these! Wish I had some more students at this level. Another WINNER!
