Maintaining practice routines during the holidays can be tough. Concerts, parties and festivities make for late nights… which make for late mornings… which make for “all-day pajama days”… and suddenly routines go out the window.
But there is a silver lining! While holidays can cause practice havoc, they also provide many opportunities for your piano students’ musical talents to be showcased, enjoyed, shared and celebrated!
So, in today’s post, we’re sharing a simple and fun printable to encourage your piano students to share their music with others this holiday season. They’ll bring joy to the world… and log some “in-disguise” practice hours at the same time!
Encourage Holiday Piano Practice With Showcase Stickers
During the holidays, your piano students and their families will likely be gathering with family and friends. And while their moms and dads run around prepping cheese balls and stuffing… your piano students will be at the bench happily prepping a piano piece.
Why? Because they’ll have our Showcase Stickers printable.
Important: When printing these stickers (labels) be sure to uncheck “Fit To Page” on your printer settings and that page scaling is set “None”. Use Avery 5160 Template or equivalent.
Showcase Stickers are sets of labels that your students can use to collect “audience autographs” after performing piano pieces during holiday gatherings… with the goal of collecting as many autographs as possible.
After your piano students play their pieces for visitors, they select the appropriate labels (aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents, friends, neighbors) and then have the visitors autograph the labels and stick them to the top of the performed music.
How many different labels and autographs can your piano students collect on their pieces by the end of the holidays?
Why Showcase Stickers Will Become a Holiday Favorite
Showcase Stickers are an easy way for your piano students to get used to performing for others. Why?
- they encourage your students to carefully prepare a piece to play for others (a motivating goal that lasts through the entire holiday season)
- they take away any sense of awkwardness that students may feel in sharing their piano skills (they have a “reason” to ask for others to listen to them play)
- they provide piano students with a much-needed opportunity to receive “warm fuzzies” about their piano skills, which in turn strengthens their connection to the piano.
- they’re fun! Visitors are always thrilled to hear children making music. What a way to kick a party up a notch!
And now you just need some great music for your piano students to share! Find out how $8 per month can freshen up your supplementary repertoire collection and breathe new life into your teaching!

Wonderful idea! I’ll just give everyone a sheet of paper with those and make a friendly competition who gets more signatures. Thanks!

What a great idea! I have some newer students, and this is a great way for them to showcase what they have learned, and get a feel for playing for an audience.
