This month, I want you and your piano students to focus on a single number: 21. That’s the number of days the experts say it takes to develop a habit. And that’s the number of days your piano students are about to commit to doing skill-building technical exercises.
If you just scoffed and thought to yourself, “Good luck!”, we understand.
Old-school technical exercises could never inspire your students to commit to 21 days of skill-building piano workouts. But the technical tunes in January’s book of the month from PianoBookClub are anything but old school.
Read on to learn how this resource can bring technical exercises to life (and to view a flip-through preview!).
How To Rock Technical Exercises With Lead Sheets
In Shred The Keys: 18 Epic Lead Sheets To Build Technical Habits, we’re bringing you a collection of pop-rock lead sheets that are hyper-focused on the technical skills your students need to become polished performers.
21 days of habit-forming practice will feel like a flash in the pan as your students use our motivating repertoire to commit finger tucks, crossovers, and leaps to muscle memory.
Let Shred The Keys get your late elementary piano students in the groove with an inspiring blend of improvisation and creativity that only leads sheets can deliver!

Hi Andrea, would love a copy of “Shred the Keys’ but don’t wish to sign up to the monthly bookclub as I have soooo much music (I need to do a sort out!). Could I still purchase a copy of this though? Technical exercises are important but something my students just find boring and really don’t get the benefit from them when they play them once a week and think that’s practice!… Thank you, Lynette
Andrea says
Hi Lynette – currently our music is only available through the PianoBookClub membership. Our membership is flexible – you can cancel at anytime. But we do hope to “wow” you with our unique approach to supplementary repertoire in a way that breathes new, fresh ideas into your studio 🙂

I need this! If I subscribe to the book club, will you send me this back issue? I am the biggest fan ever of your game club.
Andrea says
Hi Robbin – if you become a member of PianoBookClub you do get the opportunity to purchase re-released books each month. Email me to find out how it works if you like 🙂 andrea@pianobookclub.com

By the way “Stuck on Repeat” was a major hit at my recital a couple of years ago. After hearing it, two more students demanded : ) to learn it.
Andrea says
So happy to hear it Robbin! It’s catchy isn’t it 😉 Glad you enjoy the piece!
