If there is one group of piano students that is most at risk of not returning to piano lessons after a summer break, it is the teen group. This is why we always release a teen book packed with motivational music right before the start of summer.
June’s book from PianoBookClub is the long-anticipated follow-up to one of our most popular books of all time.
Duets For Me and My Not-So-Musical Mates, Volume 2 taps into your teen students’ “friend factor”… engaging the help of their peers to keep a passion for piano alive.
Read on to discover the motivating music your teens have been waiting for. You can also listen to three full audio samples AND see a flip-through preview of the book!
Your “Go-To” Piano Resource For Teen Motivation
With powerful pieces for your students and simple accompaniments for their “not-so-musical mates”, Duets For Me and My Not-So-Musical Mates, Volume 2 will become your go-to resource for teen motivation, as well as for repertoire to use when hosting a Grandparent Participation Day, offering a Bring a Friend Lesson or even involving family members in a recital.
The seven piano pieces in this book are each preceded by “Buddy Pages”. Your piano students can use these Buddy Pages to teach their “not-so-musical mates” the simple, repeating accompaniments for the piano pieces in this book.
Oh… and if you’re simply looking for standalone solos that will keep your teens glued to the bench… it’s got that in spades too with pieces in a variety of “teen-friendly” levels.

This is just super! I see this is Volume 2. Is there a Volume 1? I’d love to see it. My search didn’t come up with it. Thanks!
Andrea says
Hi Robin – Volume 1 was released a few years ago. It will be a future re-release to continuing members. Always check the bottom of your book delivery email for that month’s password – this gives you access to the “members” link on PianoBookClub.com where you can view the re-release and choose to purchase it as an “add on” for $8. Volume 1 will be re-released for sure in the future 🙂
Heidi says
Thanks for the reminder that the bottom of the email has a password with the option of purchasing re-releases. I totally forgot that! How long are the passwords good for?
Andrea says
Hi Heidi – the password you are given each month is valid until the 7th day of the following month. So, for example, June’s password will work until July 7th (at which time July’s password becomes active and a different re-release is offered).
Connie Vellekoop says
Ah shucks — can’t I just access this Teen resource without joining the members’ club?
Andrea says
Hi Connie – thanks for your interest in the book! No, all of our books are only available through the membership. This is how we are able to offer studio-licensed music at such a significant discount to industry standard 🙂 You are, of course, welcome to cancel at anytime. Today is the last day to access this book (before 4:00pm PST) before we switch over to July’s book.
Paula says
I absolutely love this duet book! I signed up for the book club, but this book seems to be for June. Is there anyway I can get it for the summer months?
Andrea says
Hi Paula – thanks for the note! Yes, our books are only available in the month in which they are released which is why we put the little note in the post about the date in which it “retires”. The nature of the membership means that the books aren’t also available in an ‘a la carte’ store. However, continuing members of PianoBookClub (like yourself) will have the chance to purchase re-released books from the past (like this one). Each month you receive a password (starting in your 2nd month). This password gives you access to the “members” page of PianoBookClub.com where you can view the re-release and can choose to purchase it. Check the bottom of your book delivery email each month for that month’s password 🙂
