Once a month, Andrea and I take a quick break from our regular blog posts to share the latest games from our monthly resource PianoGameClub. If you’re looking to pump up the fun in your lessons, then check out our game previews at the end of this post.
Every summer I revamp my piano teaching materials. I chuck (in an eco-friendly manner!) resources that rarely get used and replace them with exciting materials that will amaze my students when they return to lessons in the fall. This process of “declutter and replace” ensures my piano teaching activities are pedagogically up-to-date, project a professional image, and make my piano students light up with excitement.
In today’s post, we’re previewing four incredible piano teaching games that will get you off to the races if you’re revamping your studio resources too. Letting go of old materials and replacing them with ones that excite you has never been so easy!

If, like me, you enjoy replenishing your teaching materials, then you’ll be thrilled with June’s games from PianoGameClub.
With a wonderfully wacky set that includes a shark with a growling gut, a heroic battle with a komodo dragon, a lion preparing for liftoff, and a crummy batch of cookies, you’ll be itching to teach your kids about Treble C Position note reading, enharmonic notes, two-note slurs, and note values.

Love your games and all of the ideas and inspiration you give us! Just wondering – on the game cards page of Wrecked by Raisins, the last pair of note names in the middle column should be a C-flat with the B, right? Or maybe I need my coffee this morning lol
Y’all keep up the good work!
Monica says
^^ oops – I meant middle *row* not middle column!
Andrea says
Hi Monica! In this game the players are deciding if the pairs of notes listed are or *are not* enharmonic equivalents… so some of the cards are “correct” and some are “incorrect”. Game play surrounds making this decision 🙂

Andrea, would you consider sharing some photos of how you organize your games and etc.? I know that I love to see other people’s studios, and I’m guessing that this might start an interesting discussion on storage and organization! Blessings….

YES!! I was hoping this post was going to show and tell what Andrea does to keep everything organized. Now that I’ve been in the PianoGameClub for months, I have so many games and don’t know how to keep it all tidy!
Morgan says
I’d love this too! Andrea, I think you actually might have already posted something on this?
Andrea says
Hi Beverly and Morgan – yes! We have a little “photo tour” in one of our Facebook albums so you can see how I store them. Link is here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/teachpianotoday/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1326045324108686
