Halloween is officially over and that means I can allow myself to think about Christmas! Piano teachers everywhere are gearing up for holiday recitals – and with those recitals comes the need for lots and lots of sheet music!
While you likely have a beloved stack of carols that you turn to year after year, our guess is that holiday sheet music for your youngest beginners is not taking over your shelves.
Christmas is a time when you want your students to turn to the piano for enjoyment and celebration, but giving them sheet music that is too difficult, that takes weeks to master, or that requires you to “speed teach” important concepts like eighth notes or accidentals takes some of the enjoyment out of the Christmas music experience.
So, today we’re solving this problem for you by sharing some Christmas sheet musicΒ for your young beginners. Even your littlest students can have their moment in the spotlight with music designed to be accessible for your very little kiddos.
Primer and Preschool Level Christmas Music
If you have preschool and primer-level piano students you’ll be thrilled to find some NEW music that will fit into your holiday programming. Avoid the stress of teaching too-hard sheet music to your students before your recital, and instead, give your kiddos something unique to play that fits perfectly with their current skill sets.
The three primer-level pieces we’re sharing are set in Middle C position for those students who have recently started reading notes on the staff. Each of the pieces includes singable lyrics and a simple teacher duet (perfect for first recital performances!). They are intended to be taught in just a few lessons if necessary.
The preschool duets are designed to be used with students who are following our WunderKeys Piano for Preschoolers method books. In these books, students use characters in place of finger numbers as they form numerical awareness and gain an understanding of early musical concepts. We’re sharing a duet for students in WunderKeys Preschool Book 1, a duet for students in WunderKeys Preschool Book 2, and a solo for students in WunderKeys Preschool Book 3.

Hi Amy! So glad you had fun with the Halloween pack. We hope the Christmas music gets great use too! One of our main goals with everything we do is to make piano teaching more enjoyable; not having to worry about budget when it comes to getting great materials for your studio is part of that. This is why we give away a lot for free and keep our “price points” low. We know what it’s like to be a piano teacher π We appreciate your kind words so much.
