The holiday season can feel a bit… rushed. The never-ending stream of students in and out of your piano studio is filled with recital prep and holiday music. And while it’s all very festive and fun, it can leave you feeling as though you just need to take a moment to breathe.
And taking that moment is not only nice… it’s important. Whenever your lessons begin to feel like a production line, it’s a good moment to take a step back and spend some time doing what truly matters; sharing the joy of learning music with your students.
One of the best ways to do that is with a piano game. Playing a game with your students gives you that valuable moment to stop rushing and reconnect by having some good, old-fashioned, laugh-out-loud fun.
Today, in the spirit of the season, we’ve created a printable piano game to give to you! We hope it gives you the incentive to take that “moment” with your students in the weeks to come; their overwhelmed, busy brains will thank you!
Find C’s On The Grand Staff With This Holiday Game
In Heave Ho-Ho-Ho! your students will have a blast as they learn to quickly identify C’s on the Grand Staff. Your beginners will solidify their understanding of the grand staff and your seasoned note-readers will benefit from a fast-paced refresher 😉 After just a few rounds of this game, Bass C, Middle C, and Treble C will become instantly recognized notes; a skill that will assist your students in navigating various hand positions with ease.
You can download Heave Ho Ho Ho by clicking here.
Trevor and I hope you have fun with this game and that it provides a few peaceful and fun moments during the busy holiday season. Be sure to tag us @teachpianotoday on Instagram and Facebook if you’re using this holiday activity or any of the others we have shared! We’d love to see the pictures 🙂

Christmas games, so this is perfect timing to get me through this week, as I welcome one daughter’s baby, and prepare for the other’s wedding in 3 weeks! Thank you for your gifts of fun and creativity. Blessings for a wonderful Christmas season!

Thank you! This is perfect! I will use this with my large foam dice (from the dollar store) to give the extra-bouncy ones a chance to move around the room. (We roll them with our feet.)

Hi Deborah! We have non-holiday themed games (4 of them!) that go out every single month through PianoGameClub.com 🙂 There are other free games on our site too – use the search function and enter “piano games” and there are also a lot of games and activities (also free) on WunderKeys.com by clicking on Printables.
