It can be hard to get piano students to practice during the summer months. It can be REALLY hard to get teen piano students to practice during the summer months; their busy social calendars do not generally prioritize hitting the keys.
And this can be dangerous. Teens who step away from the piano for too long are very likely to quit piano lessons.
Fortunately, today we’re showcasing a resource that is so motivating for teens that they will toss their social calendars aside as they get lost in the music!
The Chopin Sessions – A Classical Pop Crossover
The Chopin Sessions is the third book in our classical pop crossover series that is taking the teenage piano world by storm. Teachers can’t say enough good things about the previous two books, The Amadeus Anthems and The Beethoven Sessions, and they are already in love with The Chopin Sessions.
“I LOVE the new Chopin Sessions!!!!!! Played them last night when I finally got some time to myself. Beautifully done and my husband listened from upstairs and commented how well-composed and lovely they are! Thank you, thank you, thank you again! I love the Mozart and Beethoven compositions, too. They are all gems! My students adore them!”
“Two weeks ago, I introduced your Beethoven “Moonlight Session” to a 14 yr old boy student (who has been slacking a bit lately)—he went after it! It was literally all he practiced last week, which was totally fine with me right now. Nice to have a “cool” piece to end the year with.”
The Chopin Sessions features seven pop piano pieces inspired by the music of Chopin. It’s a unique blend of the pop sounds your teen students love and the classical melodies you wish they would recognize.
And teachers love them too! We hear from piano teachers all the time who sit down with these pieces themselves and take some time to simply enjoy playing the piano… something I bet that we all wish we could do just a little more often!

Stephani says
This is great! Due to life circumstances changing, I’m not teaching piano lessons now or for the immediate future (moved to a new state, I have a toddler, my husband’s job requires him more evenings…) but I absolutely love the Beethoven and Mozart ones, and I plan to keep collecting this series for myself! They’re a personal favorite of mine! I play through the books often. Thanks for music that’s enjoyable for teachers to play too!
Andrea says
I’m honoured that you like to play them yourself, Stephanie – that’s the ultimate compliment 🙂
Sara says

I just played through the sample pages of ‘The Chopin Sessions” and really enjoyed the music! This would be perfect for two of my high school students. If I join the book club, will it be possible to purchase music from past months? I am particularly interested in the “Beethoven Sessions”. Thank you for all the great resources you provide.
Andrea says

Lori Wymore says
Hello Friends, What skill level are the three composer books that you all have been talking about here? Also, what skill level are most of the book club books at? Thank you so much!
Andrea says
Hi Lori – the three books that people are talking about are The Amadeus Anthems, The Beethoven Sessions and The Chopin Sessions – they are a set of three pop/classical collections of teen music inspired by the classical themes of each composer, but with a modern twist to incorporate the sounds your teens love. They are all available in hardcopy on Amazon at the links below with flip-through and sound samples to check out. They are intermediate level with The Amadeus Anthems being the easiest and then Beethoven and then Chopin.
