Wow! When we released our first “Practice Sessions” printable last week we were overwhelmed with messages of thanks from piano teachers (and messages of “More, please!”). With our Practice Sessions Project we’ll be releasing classical pop exercise pieces that will help make technical work relevant and fun for your teens.
These printables are designed to coordinate with what we call our “Sessions Books”… Classical Pop Piano Solos For Teens based on the well-known themes of Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin. And while these printables work well as standalone activities, they work exceptionally well as companions to our Sessions Books. If you use them in tandem, you’ll be able to deliver well-rounded lessons that include technique work in a teen-friendly way!
Today we’re sharing a Practice Session that coordinates with K TRACK 2 from The Amadeus Anthems; a pop-inspired take on his Minuet in F Major. Before you assign that piece (or any piece in the key of F Major) pull out today’s printable and delight your teens with a “Pop-Infused Etude” that reinforces playing in F Major!
A Teen Piano Solo To Reinforce The Key Of F Major
When I was a teen piano student, scales were a separate entity from my pieces. They were “warm-ups” and something I was tested on in my piano exams. But I didn’t really make a strong connection between why scale practice was important to my mastery of repertoire. I’m sure I would have practiced them more had I understood ๐
The Practice Session we’re sharing today makes it easy for you to connect these dots for your teens. This Practice Session focuses on the key of F Major. Your students will learn the F Major scale hands separately and hands together and then will have the chance to reinforce fingering patterns and LH chord progressionsย in a motivating “Pop Etude”.ย Today’s printable can be downloaded here or by clicking on the image below.
If you missed our last Practice Session (Key of G Major) you can find it here.
Looking For Music You Know They’ll Love?
Searching for teen repertoire is such a “time monster”… so stop googling “sheet music” until you fall asleep on the couch and head over to Amazon to check out our Classical Pop Piano Solos. They’re full of the classical themes you wish they’d recognize and are paired with the sounds they crave!
You can listen to samples from our teen collections below. If it sounds like music your teens will love, visit Amazon to get The Amadeus Anthems, The Chopin Sessions and The Beethoven Sessions

I absolutely LOVE these books!!! I have played through all of them myself and enjoy the simplicity, well written and beautiful music! My husband loves listening to them as well … I don’t often sit and play for long myself after teaching 21 students in one week. LOL. Thank you for this series!!!
