June is the month of the “Practice Pause”. Many students have just started summer break and many more are finishing up the last few weeks of piano lessons.
There is a tendency this month to let piano practice slide, after all, kids have worked hard this year!
But as summer approaches, any practice pause can be dangerous. With routines thrown out the window, a “short” break from the piano can quickly turn into an entire summer away from the keys.
Like brushing teeth and making beds, piano practice should be a daily, year-round occurrence.
In today’s post, we are sharing June Piano Practice Trackers that can be sent home with (or emailed to) your piano students.

June Piano Practice Trackers With Note Reading
Earlier this year, we altered the format of our original practice trackers to infuse a little bit of note reading.
If kids are taking the time to track their progress, we figured they might as well be reading notes too!
Today’s June Note Reading Practice Tracker is available at the bottom of the post, but first…
If you want your piano students to return to lessons having vastly improved their note reading skills, you’ll want to check out our book series, Andrea And Trevor Dow’s Timed Note Reading Tests.
The exercises in Book 1 and Book 2 follow a carefully-crafted, scaffolded approach to ensure piano students learn notes in a manner that makes perfect pedagogical sense.
There isn’t a single note in this book that hasn’t been placed with purpose.
As your piano students progress through the series they will learn notes and then never, ever forget them.
You can get Book 1 here and Book 2 here. Or, click on a cover below.
