Before Christmas, we shared an activity that combined note printing and Tic Tac Toe.
Teachers loved its simplicity and its appeal to primer piano students. After all, who doesn’t both know and love Tic Tac Toe?
With February 14th on the horizon, we have created two more sets of Tic Tac Toe Note Printing game boards with a Valentine’s Day theme.
X-O Tic Tac Toe is designed for primer and level 1 students who are playing music in the C 5-finger scales.

Today’s game is available at the bottom of the post but first…
Andrea and Trevor Dow’s Playing With Note Printing Activity Book For Piano, Book 1, is an innovative learning approach that gets kids note printing full piano pieces.
That’s right… the kids put the music on the page. Following our note guides, they build piano pieces that they can actually play.
Kids find this super-satisfying.
But the motivational exercises don’t end there. In addition to creating the music, in Andrea and Trevor Dow’s Playing With Note Printing Activity Book For Piano, Book 1, kids also use their note printing skills to complete mazes, spelling activities, note sorts, and patterning paths.
