If you take a St. Patrick’s Day stroll through the downtown of any city, you will discover that it is not a quiet celebration.
Likewise, it is likely not a quiet day in your studio either.
I find that when kids are a little wound up because of a special day, it is easier to embrace the chaos rather than fight it.
In today’s post, we are sharing Little Leprechaun’s Lap Tap Clap Duet. If your studio is going to be a little noisier than usual, it might as well be the product of something educational.
A Lap Tap Clap activity, for those who don’t know, is a rhythm duet where one person (student or teacher) plays the piano piece while the other performs the Lap Tap Clap Duet. Roles are then reversed.

Are you looking for St. Patrick’s Day music for your older piano students? If so, you will want to check out our Guardian Series.
In these books, Celtic piano solos serve as the stunning soundtrack to a legend that tells the tale of a mysterious band of warrior youths who answer the call of battle when Ireland is in trouble.
The series has proven to be a massive hit with teachers, teens, and parents:
“I love that my daughter is finding what speaks to her musical heart, and it’s so nice to hear her practice piano on her own again!”
“I had a parent text me that, because of this music, her daughter was once again practicing (without prompting) every day, even getting up early in the morning to practice while home sick with the flu!”
“I have followed (and loved) Andrea Dow’s music for some years now, and knew that this series would be amazing, but HOLY COW — amazing isn’t the word for it! The music is spot on, relevant, and challenging for my teenage students (but not limited to them!!), keeping them wanting more!”
