Looking for a fun and festive way to strengthen your students’ note reading skills this November and December? 🎄
Our Crack the Christmas Code game combines holiday magic with music education, giving your beginner students an engaging way to practice identifying notes in middle C position.
This easy, no-prep activity lets kids feel like detectives as they solve a Christmas-themed password—all while reinforcing essential note reading skills. Whether used during lessons or as a take-home activity, it’s sure to bring smiles and spark holiday excitement.

How It Works: Crack the Christmas Code
Our Crack the Christmas Code game is simple to set up and fun to play! Here’s how it works:
- Identify the Note: On the game board, your student begins by determining the letter name of Note Image 1.
- Cross It Off: Next, they cross out one Christmas envelope that displays the matching letter name.
- Repeat: They repeat this process for the next four note images.
- Reveal the Password: Once the envelopes are crossed out, three envelopes will remain. The letters from these envelopes are arranged on the password blanks to spell out a Christmas word.
This activity adds a touch of problem-solving to note reading, making it perfect for private lessons, group classes, or even as a fun take-home challenge during the holidays.
