I really do enjoy Halloween Week in my piano studio… seriously… I do.
But this year, it seems I have made a huge mistake. I brought out some Halloween activities a tad early, and now I am going to be utterly sick of them by October 31st. So sick of them, in fact, that I am glad I won’t see them again for a year!
It wasn’t my intention to bring them out early. It seems I tricked myself. You see, in prepping some Halloween activities to share on the blog (like the new freebie game below) I naturally tested them with my own piano students… thinking I could then sneak them away until Halloween Week!
Wow, was I wrong… my kiddos wouldn’t let them go… and they’ve been requested over and over and over all month 🙂
So, although I love the game I’m sharing today (and I know you and your students will love it too) come October 31st it’s heading into my filing cabinet for a long, long time!
Mystery At Measure Mansion
Today’s game is perfect for reinforcing beats in a measure in 4/4 time. It is exciting, fast-paced, and super educational.
All of the instructions are included with the Game File that can be downloaded here. Along with the original game boards, Trevor has also created a set of “ink-friendly” game boards if you’ll be printing them on your home computer rather than sending them to your local print shop.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I’ll be using it for the next two weeks, along with the Halloween rhythm cards printable you also shared recently. Oh, and my two brand-new beginner siblings LOVED playing “Ding Dong” at their first lesson yesterday!! 🙂

Hi Bev – wonderful to hear! 🙂 We hope you have fun with this new game – it’s always nice to have some holiday-themed activities to change things up. Happy to hear “Ding Dong” is getting great use too!

Thanks for all of your ideas and fabulous games. I can’t wait to try this one! I love your game club, too– the BEST, and it saves my sanity to not have to come up with lots of ideas on my own. You guys are the BEST.

Wonderful game. Do you have anything beyond elementary level? Students encountering dotted quarters, dotted eighths and sixteenth notes and rests would love this game as well.

I know this is not exactly related to this game (which is awesome by the way), but here is a question: if we join piano game club, is there an option to purchase previously-released games ?Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this. Even though I found it late in the game (for this year), I’ll definitely be making it up for next year.

I used this game last year and brought it out again last week! Kids love it! Thanks so much for ALL the fantastic games and activities that you share!
A somewhat harder version of this game would be wonderful for the older kids as well!
