Once a month, Andrea and I take a quick break from our regular blog posts to share the latest games from our monthly resource PianoGameClub. If you’re looking to pump up the fun in your lessons, then check out our game previews at the end of this post.
Spring has arrived. And in our part of the world it means that the rain has stopped, the trees are blooming and people are starting to emerge from their winter cocoons.
Everyone seems to have a bounce in their step, including my piano students… who seem to have a LOT of extra bounce in their steps. And while I love their energy, for the next three months keeping my piano students engaged at the piano becomes that much more challenging.
Because my youngest kiddos need to move a lot during this time of the year I use all sorts of off-the-bench activities… like the four that we’re previewing below.
Off-The-Bench Wiggle Eliminators
Getting the wiggles out of your piano students doesn’t have to be a long or tedious task. It simply requires an immediate, attention-grabbing activity that still keeps the learning happening. And nothing grabs the attention of piano students quite like the goofy theory and ear training games that we send out to our PianoGameClub subscribers.
This month we’ve dug deep into our box of creativity to bring PianoGameClub members four games that reinforce I, IV, and V7 chords, melodic intervals, triplet rhythms, and Italian terms.
Your kids will get all of their giggles out and be ready to re-focus on the bench after they engage with a heroic beaver attempting to rescue a runaway canoe, a rascally raccoon playing in rubbish, a teetering tiger lifting too many weights, and a curious cat looking to catch some dinner.
