Because teen piano students are a high-risk group for quitting lessons, Trevor and I pulled out all the stops this month to create a PianoBookClub book that will make you Mr. or Mrs. Popular with every teen that walks through your studio doors.
We know that there are two main ingredients in the recipe for teen piano success: 1. Motivating music that glues them to the bench, and 2. A great connection with their piano teacher.
With January’s Piano Book of the Month from PianoBookClub we’re loading you up with both of these key ingredients.
Our newest book, The Lap Tap Clap Revolution 2 is packed with show-stopping piano solos accompanied by revolutionary, percussion-based body beats… creating a heart-thumping duet experience. The piano solos as standalone pieces are enough to make your studio the talk of the town, but combine them with the Lap Tap Clap body percussion accompaniments (written for you above the piano part) and you will truly be “next level”.
Below you can listen to some samples and check out the sheet music.
The Lap Tap Clap Revolution 2
With a focus on quarter and eighth note rhythms, the seven Late-Elementary piano pieces in The Lap Tap Clap Revolution 2 are motivating rhythmic exercises in piano lessons, showstoppers at recitals, engaging studies for group classes, and incredible stand-alone solos. PLUS each piece is accompanied by a title page which gives your students the chance to lap, tap, clap and snap their way to rhythmic accuracy!
“My kids are THRILLED and having a blast with lap, clap, snap etc! Love seeing them so excited to both be the best as well as learn the piano duet part so I can keep up clapping! ~Sarah
Listen to the sample below. You will hear the piano solo and the accompanying, body percussion part (the lap, tap, clap, and snap!)… Duets will never be the same again!
As we mentioned… every piece in this book has a body percussion accompaniment part, but they also make incredibly powerful stand-alone solos. Listen to a sample below (minus the body percussion).

I have Lap Tap Clap 1.
Is the second book graded lower than the first one. I thought the first book was intermediate level? Please advise ! Cheers!
Hi Katrina! The first book was multi-level. This one is all late elementary
Hello! I just signed up again as your resources are too great! Is there any way of purchasing Lap Tap Clap 1? Thank you π
Hi Valentina – I’ve emailed you this info too, but yes, continuing members of PBC get the opportunity to purchase past books which we re-release to members only each month π
Please, pretty please, please, please, please make Lap Tap Clap 1 available as the “old” book to buy soon for PBC. I have a large number of percussionists in my studio right now who are FREAKING OUT about Lap Tap Clap II.
Hi Lisa – yay for freaking out! π I’ll email you with info on Lap Tap Clap 1. So glad they’re loving the book!
Please email me the info on Lap Tap Clap 1 too!
I would also love info on lap tap clap 1, as I don’t have many late elementary students at the moment. Thank you!
Hi Patricia! The Lap Tap Clap 1 was a multi-level book (they aren’t arranged in order of difficulty). It contained two elementary-level solos and the rest were late elementary to early intermediate. If you are a continuing member of PianoBookClub you have access to optional add-on purchases of re-released books each month (check the bottom of the email that delivers your book each month for more details). This is how you can obtain books you missed before you began your membership (like Lap Tap Clap 1) π
Oh my goodness! I got so excited when my book just arrived, rushed off to the membership page to buy the first one, and….it wasn’t there π I have been looking out for it for ages now.
Hi Stacey! The Lap Tap Clap Revolution Book 1 was offered as a re-release at least two times before. It will come again! π I’ll email you more info.
Iβm already a member of piano book club. Will I receive this book soon?
Hi Yuliana – yes, this is January’s book of the month so you’ll receive it on your delivery date (which is the 19th for you) π
Sounds like a fun book!
Is this a paper copy book?
Or something to down load and print?
Hi Jody – this book is delivered to you instantly as a pdf file. We do this because we also extend a studio license to print or photocopy as many times as you like for your own personal students π
Hi Andrea,
Do you have any suggestions for a good app to help my students practice reading key signatures?
Thank you!
Hi Maryann! I’m not an expert on apps as I don’t use them – I use hands-on piano games instead (and we share a lot of key-signature ones through PianoGameClub.com :)) I know flashnote derby’s update now includes key signatures – maybe check that out?
Love this! I’ve been having tons of fun with students, my children and their friends when they come over to play. It’s the new cool thing to do in our culdesac! Lol!
That’s so cool to hear, Jeanne!!
