I can’t believe that Spring Break is just around the corner; for me, Christmas doesn’t seem so far in the past. Of course, that could be due to the feverish pace Trevor and I have been keeping since the holidays.
With the release of Wunderkeys Elementary Piano Level 1A in January, a surprise book for beginning teens coming on Thursday, and a secret project that will be revealed toward the end of March, we can certainly use this “break” that spring always brings.
If you have also been keeping a feverish pace in your piano studio, we want to mentally extend your upcoming Spring Break by sharing a pack of St. Patrick’s Day printables that will ease your planning the week before you take a well-deserved hiatus.
From finger number reinforcement to note reading to late elementary ear training, there is something in today’s printable pack for most of your piano students.
A Pot Of Gold Full Of Piano Printables
I imagine that St. Patrick is not a fan of Spring Break. I mean, just as his special day approaches, a great big school break takes the wind out of his sails. You might even say he’s green with envy 🙂
Well, we’re not going to let kids miss out on the St. Paddy’s Day fun this year! At least, not in piano studios around the world. To bring the magic of St. Patrick’s Day to your piano kids, download the printables below and then begin using them as soon as your calendar flips over to March.
1. Printable #1 – Shamrock Shake (Primer Finger Number Reinforcement)
Shamrock Shake is a fun way to improve recognition of finger numbers and quickly allows you to see if there are any hesitations or “mix-ups” in your young piano students. Laminate it so you can use it over and over again and challenge your students to see how quickly they can tap out each row.
2. Printable #2 – St. Patrick’s Note Reading Race
Race the leprechaun to his pot of gold! One of the best ways to improve note reading is by having your students write notes on the staff. This printable gives your students the opportunity to do this over and over again as they race the leprechaun to his pot of gold while reinforcing line notes C, E, G on the treble staff.
3. Printable #3 – St. Patrick’s Ear Training Game
Your piano students will have a blast attempting to reach the pot of gold as they listen for major and minor chords while they scoot around this game board.
