Lesson assignment sheets are a useful tool for piano students. Every teacher should be using them to ensure that home practice is effective.
But lesson assignment sheets are short-term tools. If you want your students to make progress at the piano, they’re going to need to combine their lesson assignment sheets with something that can track progress over a longer period of time.
In today’s post, we’re sharing printable monthly piano planners that your older students can use to track their progress, skill acquisition, piano practice and goals.
Tracking Piano Progress In October, November, and December
One skill that is overlooked in the development of piano players is organization. We teach kids how to read notes, how to play with dynamics, and how to tackle complicated rhythms. But rarely, do we take the time to help them get organized.
Let’s be honest… we can’t do it all!
But we can use tools to help our students with skills, like organization, that can’t be taught at a piano. With today’s monthly piano planners, your students will have a handy tool that will help keep their piano lesson experience organized.
With not too much effort, your students will know when upcoming performances are happening, how often they are practicing at home, what pieces they have recently completed and what goals they are working toward.
How To Use Our Monthly Piano Planners
The printable package that you can download here (or by clicking on the image below) contains three planners for the months of October, November and December.
Each planner contains a calendar, daily circles that can be checked off when their practice is complete, and areas for recording skill acquisition, completed repertoire, and goals for future months.
Print these planners off, stick them in your students’ piano binders and watch the impact a little organization will have on their piano playing.
While these monthly planners can be used with any student, the color scheme and theme is designed to coordinate with our newest method books, WunderKeys Intermediate Pop Studies For Piano 1 and WunderKeys Intermediate Pop Studies For Piano 2.
