Are your printers warmed up and ready for some Valentine’s Day piano activities?
As a ”maker of piano printables” I look forward to months with special days. Kids always have more fun when their piano music and activities celebrate something.
Today, I got so excited about Valentine’s Day that I created not one, not two… but three Valentine’s Day note reading activities for your primer piano students (or level 1 students who need extra assistance).
Check them out in the post below.

A Valentine’s Day Extravaganza
Primer and Level 1 piano students get a little extra boost of energy when a holiday is around the corner. Rather than being frustrated by this energy, teachers should harness it to make some real learning happen.
Download instructions for the following activities can be found at the bottom of this page.
Activity 1: True Or False Note Reading
In True Or False Note Reading your students will improve their note reading in C position by coloring hearts based on whether or not note names match note images.

Activity 2: C Position Piano Puzzles
In C Position Piano Puzzles your students will assemble two-piece puzzles by matching note names to note images.

Activity 3: Lovebird Note Reading
In Lovebird Note Reading your piano students will help reunite lovebirds by printing notes on a pathway.

Hi Susan – our passwords have been the same for over 6 years 🙂 Just make sure you are using all lowercase letters. Double-check the email you received on Thursday as a subscriber to TeachPianoToday as it’s in bold at the bottom of that email.
Have been wanting to ask for a while now but felt silly for not knowing … how does one “print notes in the boxes”?
Hi Jess! Note “printing” simply means learning to draw the note on the staff. In this instance, the student “prints” (writes) the note on the staff on the correct line or space. Does that help? Note printing is a really powerful way of assisting with note reading as it helps students to better understand the staff.
These are adorable! Thanks Andrea and Trevor!
Have fun! 🙂
You’re so welcome! Thanks for commenting 🙂
I cannot remember the password to download the free printables.
