If a parent has ever heard, “Nothing much” when asking their child about piano lessons, they’re not alone! Kids aren’t always the best at relaying details to their parents.
“How was your piano lesson today?”
“Good.”
“What did you do?”
“I don’t know.”
That’s where our new Ask Me Pages printable comes in! This simple yet powerful tool is designed to bridge the communication gap between teachers, students, and parents—ensuring that parents stay informed, engaged, and excited about their child’s musical journey.

How To Use Our Primer Ask Me Pages
Each Primer Ask Me Page includes four boxes labeled Ask Me About…, where teachers jot down key moments from the lesson—maybe a new concept, a fun game, a big accomplishment, or a silly moment that made the student laugh.
Beside each box, there’s a date space so parents know when it happened. When the student brings the sheet home, parents have a direct invitation to spark meaningful conversations about piano.
Instead of getting vague responses like “I don’t remember,” parents can ask specific questions:
🎶 “Your teacher wrote that you learned about quarter rests today—can you show me what that means?”
🎶 “It says you played a duet today—what was your favorite part?”
🎶 “Tell me about the game you played with the rhythm cards!”
These conversations do more than just keep parents in the loop. They reinforce learning, build excitement, and strengthen the connection between home and lessons—helping families see (and appreciate!) the value of music education.
Designed to Pair With Our New Primer Book
While Primer Ask Me Pages can be used as standalone printables, they’ve been designed to correspond with our newly released second edition of WunderKeys Primer Piano Book One. Teachers can use these sheets to highlight key moments from the book, ensuring that parents understand the musical skills their child is developing week by week. Here’s what’s new in the 2nd Edition:
- Almost twice as much music: Yep, 1.74 times more measures. (We counted!)
- Fresh pre-reading notation and illustrations: Units 1–4 have a polished, updated look.
- Page numbers and unit numbers: No more hunting for pages.
- Updated illustrations and visuals
