When the studio lights go out for the season, kids head into practice time without their weekly lesson—the one where you’d usually check in and keep things moving forward.
That’s why we created My Piano Teacher’s Christmas Wishlist, a two-page Christmas piano practice printable that becomes a friendly stand-in while you’re away. It’s basically a tiny take-home piano teacher wrapped in festive cheer.
Inside, students will find 12 simple prompts you’d normally say during lessons. Little nudges like “count out loud for one line,” “relax shoulders before you start,” and “keep eyes on the music, not hands” that help them stay focused, confident, and intentional through the holiday break.
It’s adorable. It’s practical. And it gives families an easy way to support practice when routines are a little out of sync.

How To Use This Christmas Printable
Scroll down and grab the printable. Your students will step into January feeling steady, supported, and excited to play.
You can introduce My Piano Teacher’s Christmas Wishlist during your final lesson before the break. Take a quick moment to walk students through the prompts so they feel confident using them at home.
Encourage families to hang the printable somewhere visible… on the piano, the fridge, or inside a practice binder. A clear spot makes it easy for kids to glance at a prompt before they begin.
Let students know they can choose one or two (or twelve!) prompts each practice day. This keeps things light, fun, and manageable while still helping them maintain steady progress until lessons resume.
The printable is available at the bottom of the post, but first…
