Last week we wrote about the importance of keeping in touch with your studio families over the summer months. We also wrote about how, with a little creative planning, this consistent contact doesn’t have to steal too much precious time from your own holidays.
The printable we’re sharing today is a great example of how a small gesture can make a huge difference in the summer success of your studio.
With our Piano Recital Postcards, thrilling your students and impressing your piano parents requires only a short stroll to the mailbox!
Congratulate Your Students With A Piano Recital Postcard
In the coming days and weeks, many of you are wrapping up another year of piano lessons with a spring recital. Over the course of an hour or two you will showcase your studio’s hard work and then say, “Goodbye!” to your students.
But goodbyes always feel so final. And when you’re eager for piano students to return, the last thing you want are feelings of finality.
So, to bridge the gap between one year of teaching and the next, we’re sharing Piano Recital Postcards that can be sent to your students a week to ten days after your piano recital.
With these postcards, you’ll be able to congratulate your students while also letting them know that you can’t wait to see them in just a few short months (or weeks, depending on your break).
And, if you’re still trying to get those re-registration forms back, these postcards provide one more opportunity to get in touch.
Download the postcards by clicking on the images below and then hit up a printing service (I use VistaPrint.com – 50 postcards are about $15) to print them back-to-back on glossy card stock (4×6). Then, simply fill in your students’ names, write a short congratulatory message, pop them in the mail… and then hit the beach!
Not sure how to upload to VistaPrint? We created a screen capture that you can watch here. Follow these easy upload directions after downloading and saving the postcards below.

What a great thing! I just did my student recital on Saturday, but still have another month of lessons before letting my students go for the summer. 🙂

Hi Sarah! Perfect timing 🙂 It doesn’t necessarily have to be a “final lesson” thing – your students will appreciate the gesture as a “congrats on a great recital performance” too! 🙂

These look great! Thank you!

For my students, it’s not necessarily “Thanks for a great year” because I continue to teach through the summer and expect my students to continue to come during the summer. These would be great to give at their next lesson after the recital….any recital since I have multiple. It’s also a great lead in to talk about how they felt at the recital (nervous, etc) and if they heard any other music they wanted to play in the future.

What a great idea, thank you for sharing your designs! We just had our recital this past Friday so I ordered these on VistaPrint today. Thanks for the VistaPrint “tutor session” as well, that made it so much easier for those of us that aren’t so tech savvy! 🙂
Andrea says
So glad to hear it, Leisa! 🙂

Love this idea! I’m ordering both designs of the postcard now. Just curious about the area for the address on the older student cards. Does the post office have any issue delivering these with the address printed sideways below the stamp? Thank you for all your fabulous ideas!
Andrea says
I’ve never had an issue with where the address was – but if you were concerned you could pop them into an envelope 🙂
