Are your primer students ready for an exciting new challenge? This week, we’re introducing the “Rhythm Ninja Action Game.”
This off-the-bench activity is designed to turn your students into rhythm warriors.
So, sharpen those ninja skills, and let’s explore how today’s activity can revolutionize practice in your studio!

Why Your Students Will Love Today’s Game
Today’s game is an interactive way to teach rhythm to primer students.
This activity offers a fresh approach to learning. Students often focus on note reading and overlook rhythm. The “Rhythm Ninja Action Game” addresses this by making rhythm practice fun and physical. It gets students away from the piano, giving them a much-needed break.
How To Play
- Shuffle both the Rhythm Card Deck and the Action Card Deck.
- Draw one card from each deck.
- Perform the rhythm on the Rhythm Card using the action on the Action Card.
For example, a student will draw one rhythm card and an action card that says “Click your tongue.” The student must then click their tongue in rhythm with the card. Imagine the giggles when a student clicks their tongue to the beat!
