December is here, and that means excitement is in the air—and in your piano studio!
With holiday concerts and Christmas break around the corner, it’s the perfect time to sprinkle a little festive fun into your lessons while still sneaking in some serious rhythm practice.
Say hello to the Rhythm Reindeer Action Game! This holiday-themed twist on our beloved Rhythm Ninja Action Game is packed with Christmas cheer and engaging actions that will have your students smiling, moving, and mastering rhythm in no time.

How To Play The Rhythm Reindeer Action Game
The Rhythm Reindeer Action Game combines goofy actions with rhythmic precision, making it perfect for reinforcing rhythm skills in an engaging way.
As students play the game they will perform Christmas-inspired actions such as “Make a quick wink like a twinkling Christmas star,” or “Tap a candy cane on the table,” or even “Shrug your shoulders as if shaking off snow.”
It’s simple, silly, and, most importantly, effective! Here is how it is played:
How To Play
- Shuffle both the Rhythm Card Deck and the Action Card Deck.
- Draw one card from each deck.
- Perform the rhythm on the Rhythm Card using the action on the Action Card.
For example, a student will draw one rhythm card and an action card that says “Stomp one foot quickly, like Santa knocking snow off his boots.” The student must then perform the rhythm on the card using this action. Imagine the giggles when a student Santa Stomps to the beat.
