When you’re trying to work from home and keep your kids educated, printable worksheets are a parent’s best friends. Personally, I set aside 20 minutes every night to pump out music, math, and writing worksheets that keep my kids learning for a good part of the day.
And while printable worksheets are great for filling the time, I have discovered that cut-and-play board games provide valuable extra minutes of entertainment. After all, not only do my kids need to complete the board game activity, but they also have to cut it out and set it up!
Because I suspect that your piano parents are also looking for anything that can provide them with a few moments of peace and quiet, today we are sharing a cut and play piano game for level 1 students!
The game, found below in today’s post, can be emailed to your studio families or printed out and placed in piano packages for your kiddos.
An Easter Intervals Piano Board Game
Today’s Cut and Play Board Game is designed for students working in a level 1 method book (such as WunderKeys Elementary Piano Level 1A). It reinforces note reading and recognition of intervals on the staff.
Three different sets of cards have been included with the game so that it may be used for students at different stages in their method books.
Playing The Game
To play the game your students will cut out a card set, shuffle the cards and place them into a deck.
Next, they will select a card and place it face up on Square 1 on the game board. After that they will select a second card and place it face up on Square 2 on the game board.
After the cards have been placed on the game board your students will name the interval created by the notes on the cards and then color in a square on the game board that is above the named interval.
Finally, your students will keep playing until all of the squares above one interval are colored.
