I used to think teenagers were too old to trick or treat during Halloween. Then my daughter became a teenager… and I changed my mind.
As long as teenagers wear great costumes and respect the younger trick-or-treaters, what is so bad about them enjoying a few extra years of childhood?
The same goes for piano lessons. I don’t think kids are ever too old for Halloween piano music!
While they probably don’t want to play Three Little Goblins or Happy Little Pumpkins, they will definitely be game for some spooky tunes to celebrate the season.
In today’s post, we are sharing an older beginner Halloween piano piece.
Composed on our innovative Pop Staff, it is a classical pop twist on Camille Saint-Saëns’, Danse macabre.

Spectre: A Halloween Pop Staff Piano Piece is composed on our innovative Pop Staff.
The Pop Staff is a modified bass staff that accompanies a treble staff. Chord symbols placed on the Pop Staff enable students to play simple left-hand pop chords, creating significantly more rewarding music than repertoire found in traditional older beginner books.
As mentioned above, today’s piano piece is composed for students working in the second book of our Older Beginner series.
To perform this piece, your teens and adults should have already been introduced to eighth notes and the D minor pop chord.
