With this digital teaching resource, you can print and play in minutes. Every game is complete—boards, cards, teacher guides—so you can skip the prep and dive straight into the fun.
It’s how you turn those first lessons of the year into “the best lessons ever.”
These games were created to go beyond entertainment. It’s all about the leveling—so with the included leveling chart (which aligns with the piano books from the Very Useful Piano Library), you’ll know exactly when to use each game and which students it’s for. That way, it’s not just fun… it’s a resource you’ll reach for confidently, consistently, and often.
As a studio-licensed digital download, this resource includes 8 fully developed level 1A piano games—with printable game boards, playing cards, teacher guides, and listening master sheets you can print and reuse with every student in your studio.
This is the second release in a growing series. Coming soon: early primer, late primer, and level 1B editions—so you’ll be able to build an organized, easy-to-use game library that grows with your students.

Today’s Level 1A Piano Game Pack
Each of these level 1A piano games comes with step-by-step instructions, printable playing cards, and game boards—plus listening master sheets for the aural-based activities. Whether you’re reinforcing note names, building interval skills, or sharpening ear training, there’s a game here to support your students… and keep them totally engaged.
And because the games are leveled, they’re easy to sort. Because they’re skill-focused, they’re easy to use. And because they’re actually aligned with your method books… they won’t gather dust.

Let’s Look Inside!

1. Neck and Neck: Aural recognition of staccato and legato
It’s a wild, high-stakes climb up a giraffe’s neck! With every staccato or legato guess, students flip cards, snatch coins, and try to cash in before a sneaky “Game Over” sends their loot crashing to the ground.

2. Hunting The High Seas: Note recognition in treble C position
Yo-ho-ho and a battle of the brains! In this swashbuckling note-naming race, players flip, roll, and chase each other around the map—only one can catch the other and claim victory on the high seas!

3. Hay Day Heist: Aural recognition of intervals of a fourth and fifth
It’s a barnyard battle of wits as students listen closely for fourths and fifths while trying to outsmart a flock of coin-hiding chickens. With every flip, they’ll add, remove, or roll for the win—can they cover all the green circles before their coins disappear?

4. SnapBeard: Reinforce recognition of notes in C Position.
It’s a note-reading Viking quest to conquer the top row! With clever moves and coin-blocked paths, players battle their way forward—only one can outwit their rival and claim musical victory.
👉 Four games in—and we’re just getting started. If your students are already in love with what they’re seeing, this collection is ready to print and play:

5. Treble Trek: Note recognition in treble C position
It’s a note-reading space race where only one character will blast off to victory! Students flip, name, and move three game markers toward a spaceship—hoping the one they claimed makes it to the stars first.

6. Headspin Havoc: Visual recognition of intervals of a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Get ready for a high-speed interval race packed with nuts, bolts, and total chaos! Players flip cards, cover intervals, and brace for the wild moment a “Switch!” card sends them leaping into each other’s circuits to finish the job on a whole new board.

7. Gym Jam: Improve hands-together note reading speed
It’s a note-reading strength test on the musical rings! Players flip, roll, and muscle their way down the looped path—blocking opponents and swinging ahead until one claims victory with a final, flawless dismount onto the last ring.

8. Rusty Moves: Reinforce aural recognition of intervals of a 2nd and 3rd
