Beginning teen and adult piano students tend to be quite serious in lessons.
Unlike primer kiddos who will happily strike any key, whether it has a corresponding note in the song or not, older students are very, very, careful to not mistakes in front of a teacher.
Nobody should have to learn under that kind of pressure. And that’s why it is a good idea to include composing and improvisation when working with beginning adults.
These two activities relieve some of the pressure that builds up when older beginners demand upon themselves that they must not make a mistake.
To help your beginning teen and adult students have a little more fun during piano lessons, today we are sharing a fill-in-the-blanks composing solo.
The step-by-step approach means that you and your students will create a successful piano piece even if you have never taught composing before.

In early February we released WunderKeys Pop Staff Piano Library For Older Beginners, Book One.
With its unique approach to older beginner piano education, this book is a game-changer.
Before WunderKeys Pop Staff Piano Library For Older Beginners, students had to choose between a chording method book or a traditional method book.
With this book, teens and adults don’t have to choose. Using our innovative Pop Staff, students play significantly more rewarding music than repertoire found in traditional older beginner books, while still learning everything (including bass staff note reading) that those traditional methods teach.
