Our teen piano book, Guardians of Ballinmore, serves as the epic soundtrack to a mythical tale of heroism. When your teens play the music they are transported through time to a battle between an evil invading force and an underdog army destined for victory.
Wrapped up in the awesome adventure, it’s impossible not be completely engaged in the music.
And now we’re sharing a teen piano game that will immerse your students even further into the adventure! With our printable game, The Battle For Ballinmore, you and your teen students will engage in a board game battle where primary chords in minor keys are reinforced.

Reinforce Primary Chords With This Teen Piano Game
While today’s piano game works great as a standalone activity, it is the perfect accessory for any teen students who are already exploring our celtic piano books, Guardians of Ballinmore (available on Amazon) and Guardians of Arranmore (also available on Amazon).
The Battle For Ballinmore is a 4-page printable board game designed to reinforce understanding of I, IV, and V chords in minor keys. During the game your students will examine musical excerpts, name the minor keys and the given chord tones, and then determine the corresponding I, IV, or V chords.
In no time at all, your teens will be learning to relate the musical patterns on their page to underlying chord sequences – something that helps immensely with both sight reading and memorization.

Here Is The Music That Motivates Teen Piano Players
If you teach students who are fans of Twilight, The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, The Fault In Our Stars, or anything deep, powerful and emotional, they are going to go crazy for the piano pieces in Guardians of Ballimore.
Guardians of Ballinmore features powerful piano solos inspired by the legend of a mysterious band of celtic youth who, in 49 AD, descended on the small village of Ballinmore, repelled the attacking Roman army, and saved Ireland.

My teens will be SO happy to see a game for them! My copy of the books are set to arrive tomorrow!! YAY!
Andrea says
Hi Barbara – fabulous! We hope they enjoy both the book and the game 🙂
Anita says
I don’t see a game board in the file?
Andrea says
It’s in the pdf – the title page also serves as the game board 🙂

This game looks awesome. I don’t currently have any teen students but I hope to try it soon. I have a friendly suggestion though. Brown is a bear of a color to print, and there is so much of it on the cards and game board that I’m afraid I’m going to run out of ink just with this one game. Would you consider changing the design to a more printer friendly version? My recommendation would be keep the brown border and the logo but get rid of the brown background leaving the page mostly white but retaining the same awesome design elements.
Andrea says
Hi Shaylene – we really recommend printing at your local Staples or other office supply store. The cost is the same no matter what the design, but visual appeal really makes a big difference to this age group and so you’ll end up with a great-looking resource that you’ll use over and over 🙂 Hope you enjoy it!
